Why spend the winter in Portugal?
In Portugal, especially in the south, winters are mild. With over 1200 hours of sunshine in the period November – April, the Algarve is at the top of Europe. Temperatures are mild, in January it can often be 18 degrees.
The houses can be cold, especially in the evening, so a house with underfloor heating is recommended.
In addition, the Algarve is very green in winter. So it is a beautiful period to walk and enjoy nature.
And the Algarve is relatively cheap. A drink on a terrace or food in a restaurant is much cheaper than in the Netherlands. Reason enough to go to Portugal for the winter!
